NAOMI-A GREAT WOMAN

Imagine losing everything within a very short period of time, your husband, your sons; I will probably lose the will to continue living. Depression and stress will become part of our lives (to most of us), especially if you don’t have any friends or family to lean on. This is what happened to Naomi. Before we dive more into her story, here is a little bit about what happened to me, few years ago…. Love is a special thing. When you have love, you have almost everything and you believe that you can conquer everything. I had a very special friend whom I valued a lot. Being a young woman, full of energy and dreams, I gave my all to the relationship little did I know that it was doomed to fail. My case is different from that of Naomi. She had a husband. She had two sons. She was a happy mother. Her pain could not be compared to mine. I went through heartbreak and it felt like the end of me, she went through permanent loss. How did Naomi find herself in this situation? T...

4 Things I wish I Knew when I got Born Again

Image
What do you do when you wake up one day and realize that you if you had known better at the beginning, maybe your life will not be the way it is now? This happened to me and today I have chosen to help someone not to repeat the same mistake I did. I got born again in 2009.   During that time I had no idea what being saved meant. I did not even know that I was supposed to grow. It took me quite a while to know this.   Now that I know, let me share those five things with you: (Unless otherwise stated, all scripture is taken from the Holy Bible, King James Version) 1.       Prayer Prayer is essential for spiritual growth. This is the process of communicating with our creator, God. There is a particular format that Jesus taught us to follow in Matthew 6:9-13 which says:                 “Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed ...

THE ROLE OF THE HUSBAND

Ephesians 5:23- For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church and He is the Savior of the body. a)    Selfless Servant Leader Christian husbands cannot be selfish in the decisions they make for the family. They must lead as Christ led.  He was a servant leader. Mark 10-42-45 says –So Jesus called them together and said, “You know that in this world kings are tyrants, and officials lord it over the people beneath them. But among you it should be quite different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant and whoever wants to be first must be the slave of all. For even the Son of Man, came here not to be served but to serve others, and to give my life as a ransom for many. b)    Comfort and guide It is the responsibility of you as the husband to be a comfort and guide to your family. Don’t buy into the lie that you must display a hard persona character but you should at all times displ...

HEARING THE VOICE OF GOD

“ HE WHO BELONGS TO GOD HEARS WHAT GOD SAYS, THE REASON YOU DO NOT HEAR IS YOU DO NOT BELONG TO GOD” JOHN 8:47 Our relationship with God depends upon our obedience to His commands. We get to know the Lord’s commands through: a)      Reading God’s word. b)     Studying God’s word. c)      Meditating on God’s word. d)     Interpreting it by the help of the Holy Spirit. e)      Applying it in our daily lives. f)       Prayer. g)      Praise. h)     Worship. God does not speak contrary to His words.  He will not tell you to do something that is contrary to what is written in His word. For example, God will not tell you to murder while the Ten Commandments forbid that action. In Numbers 23:19 says that “ God is not a man that He should lie, nor a son of man that He should change his ...

WALK BLAMELESS BEFORE GOD

I was studying the story of Abraham today and it got me thinking. Before being named Abraham, he was just an ordinary man, born and raised in an ordinary family. What made him different was the fact that he walked blameless before God.  Then came his turning point, from being an ordinary man to an extra-ordinary man. GENESIS 12:1-3 “ Now the Lord said to Abram, Go forth from your country, and from your relatives, and from your father’s house, to the land which I will show you; and I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and so you shall be a blessing; and I will bless those who bless you and the one who curses you, I will curse and in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.” Our God has the power to transform our lives, to fulfill our hearts desires if only we walk blameless before him. Yes, the fact is we live in the world and at some point, we stumble and fall but our God is merciful. He does not abandon us. H...

ISAAC IS BORN

Genesis 21: 1 says “Then the Lord took note of Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did for Sarah as He had promised.”  Today, I also believe that my Isaac is born. He was God’s promise to Abraham. That promise came at a time when it seemed that it was impossible. Both Abraham and Sarah were advanced in age. Sarah was passed the child bearing age, in fact, when she was told that you will have a child, she laughed. That is how impossible it was for her. Many are the times that we go through hardships in this world to an extent that it becomes impossible to believe what the word of God says concerning our lives. You wake up in the morning and you have all this bills to pay, a family to support.  You have been praying and it seems that nothing is happening. You want so much to believe in God’s promises concerning your life but you simply cannot. Do not be discouraged, do not give-up. At the appointed time, you will be remembered like Abraham and Sarah. Jeremiah 29:11...
