THE ROLE OF THE HUSBAND

Ephesians 5:23- For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church and He is the Savior of the body. a)    Selfless Servant Leader Christian husbands cannot be selfish in the decisions they make for the family. They must lead as Christ led.  He was a servant leader. Mark 10-42-45 says –So Jesus called them together and said, “You know that in this world kings are tyrants, and officials lord it over the people beneath them. But among you it should be quite different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant and whoever wants to be first must be the slave of all. For even the Son of Man, came here not to be served but to serve others, and to give my life as a ransom for many. b)    Comfort and guide It is the responsibility of you as the husband to be a comfort and guide to your family. Don’t buy into the lie that you must display a hard persona character but you should at all times display the character of Christ. You m

HEARING THE VOICE OF GOD

“ HE WHO BELONGS TO GOD HEARS WHAT GOD SAYS, THE REASON YOU DO NOT HEAR IS YOU DO NOT BELONG TO GOD” JOHN 8:47 Our relationship with God depends upon our obedience to His commands. We get to know the Lord’s commands through: a)      Reading God’s word. b)     Studying God’s word. c)      Meditating on God’s word. d)     Interpreting it by the help of the Holy Spirit. e)      Applying it in our daily lives. f)       Prayer. g)      Praise. h)     Worship. God does not speak contrary to His words.  He will not tell you to do something that is contrary to what is written in His word. For example, God will not tell you to murder while the Ten Commandments forbid that action. In Numbers 23:19 says that “ God is not a man that He should lie, nor a son of man that He should change his mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill? HOW DOES GOD SPEAK In the Old Testament, God spoke to people in an audible voice beginning with our first parents: Ad

WALK BLAMELESS BEFORE GOD

I was studying the story of Abraham today and it got me thinking. Before being named Abraham, he was just an ordinary man, born and raised in an ordinary family. What made him different was the fact that he walked blameless before God.  Then came his turning point, from being an ordinary man to an extra-ordinary man. GENESIS 12:1-3 “ Now the Lord said to Abram, Go forth from your country, and from your relatives, and from your father’s house, to the land which I will show you; and I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and so you shall be a blessing; and I will bless those who bless you and the one who curses you, I will curse and in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.” Our God has the power to transform our lives, to fulfill our hearts desires if only we walk blameless before him. Yes, the fact is we live in the world and at some point, we stumble and fall but our God is merciful. He does not abandon us. He fo

ISAAC IS BORN

Genesis 21: 1 says “Then the Lord took note of Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did for Sarah as He had promised.”  Today, I also believe that my Isaac is born. He was God’s promise to Abraham. That promise came at a time when it seemed that it was impossible. Both Abraham and Sarah were advanced in age. Sarah was passed the child bearing age, in fact, when she was told that you will have a child, she laughed. That is how impossible it was for her. Many are the times that we go through hardships in this world to an extent that it becomes impossible to believe what the word of God says concerning our lives. You wake up in the morning and you have all this bills to pay, a family to support.  You have been praying and it seems that nothing is happening. You want so much to believe in God’s promises concerning your life but you simply cannot. Do not be discouraged, do not give-up. At the appointed time, you will be remembered like Abraham and Sarah. Jeremiah 29:11-14 says

DOES KNOWING THE TRUTH REALLY SET YOU FREE?

I found myself in a situation yesterday that got me asking myself, does knowing the truth really set you free? . My husband pulled a prank on me and it really got me. “Baby, am going to do something but please forgive me, no matter what happens, just know that I love you so much and my son too.” It was a text message that left me shaking. I did not know what he was going to do. I am a human being and out of curiosity, I called him to try and get something out of him. Unfortunately, I did not manage to do so. I went to work to try and keep myself from thinking but I couldn’t. So many questions were racing through my head, what is he going to do? Is it something good or bad? Is it going to affect our marriage? Does it have anything to do with our son…?..............what if? The questions were so many until I found myself sweating. It was only until I prayed when I found relief. I knelt down at my place of work and just said this simple prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, I do not

THE LIFE OF A KING

Chase is a game that not many of us are gifted to play. The life of a King is a movie about a Mr. Eugene Brown, who after being in prison, is released. In his heart, he knows that before going to prison seventeen years before, he had so many friends. Unfortunately, seventeen years down the line, he knows he does not have any friends, maybe none.   The society has a way of punishing people. He goes out trying to get a decent job. A job that will offer him a second chance to start over.   Luck seems not to be on his side. He is turned down because of his criminal record. He is also has to deal with a broken marriage. His children got affected because of him. The son is in jail for selling drugs. The daughter is trying everything to help out her brother. She is attending law school probably to fight for the release of her brother from detention. The son has actually learned so well from the father. John 5: 19 says that “ Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, ‘Truly, trul
